Taken in late 2003 in the evening sunshine in the Cabo de Gata National Park just outside Almería in Southern Spain. The picture just presented itself. All I needed to do was to get the composition right, which was just a matter of following the lines of the telegraph wires, and the picture was ready-made.
The Cabo de Gata National Park is beautiful to see the evening sun. The park is located just outside of the city of Almería, in southern Spain. As the sun sets over the mountains in the park, it’s a sight to behold.
The area is almost volcanic, and so you get amazing contrasts between these hard rocks, some of which are really smooth but unchanged over thousands of years. Very similar to the volcanic landscape in Lanzarote.
With regard the camera, a basic Canon PowerShot S230. Sometimes the best camera to shoot with is the one you have at that moment!
Without any camera, I’d have missed this opportunity.
